Public Housing

The Ocala Housing Authority is an Equal Opportunity Employer, Fair Housing Agency

The Ocala Housing Authority (OHA) owns and operates 185 Public Housing units within the city limits, providing subsidized housing to eligible families. Our Public Housing Communities consist of Deer Run -seventy-six (76) units, Pavilion Oaks - forty (39) units, Pine Gardens - twenty (20) units, and Shady Hollow - fifty (50) units. The occupancy team works closely with our maintenance team to turn units around quickly to provide housing to another eligible family off our waiting list. Together, the teams provide safe, decent, and sanitary housing for our residents.

Our goal is to provide safe, decent, and sanitary housing. The public housing staff thoroughly screens prospective residents and strictly enforces our One Strike Policy to ensure that our families are living in safe communities. Our maintenance staff ensures decent housing by maintaining units through work orders and preventative maintenance. Staff monitors housekeeping to ensure that our residents are maintaining the homes to meet the Ocala Housing Authority's sanitary standards.

Not only does the Ocala Housing Authority provide housing to our residents, but it also provides the opportunity for self-sufficiency through our Resident Services Department. The two departments work closely together to provide our families with the resources and tools needed to become self-sufficient.

All Public Housing communities are on the bus route and are conveniently located near schools, churches, and shopping.
