Housing Counseling Agency

One of the biggest obstacles to owning a home is the lack of knowledge. The OHA Housing Counselling Program is designed to empower homebuyers with knowledge of all aspects of purchasing and maintaining a home. HUD Certified Housing Counsellors are available to provide education and assistance in navigating homeownership and preventing loss of home due to foreclosure. These services, funded by HUD, are provided free of charge.

Individual and workshop sessions include budget, debt, financial analysis, credit, purchasing a home, maintaining a home, inspection, preventing loss of home, planning for emergencies, rights and responsibilities of renting, importance of home inspections, roles of a realtor, and knowing your rights. Topics are addressed in classes held at the OHA main office and through one-on-one counseling sessions. OHA is committed to helping anyone who is interested in becoming a homeowner and has connected with community partners who are very knowledgeable, experienced, and skilled in providing education to our club members.
